The Fisheries at Gasparilla Sound, Placida is a lovely blend of old and new Florida with windows overlooking a tangle of mangroves. The service is good and they serve excellent food.
Also in this area is an excellent wet fish shop that sells the best shrimps money can buy.

Johnny Leverocks 7092 Placida Road, Cape Haze is an excellent fish restaurant with the catch phrase ‘If it’s fresher than Leverocks then it’s still swimming’. Overlooks a small marina.

Prime Time 5855 Placida Road offers a mix of American and Mexican food with enormous Margaritas for the adventurous.

Harpoon Harry’s at Fisherman’s Village is a lively eating-place with tables overlooking Charlotte Harbor and if you are there in the evening the sunsets are spectacular.

Captains Table is situated on the second level above Harpoon Harry’s and offers fine dining with seafood, steaks and unique specialties.

The Blue Lagoon Placida Road is a good Italian Restaurant in nice surroundings.

Perkins 1700 Tamiami Trail is a must for the biggest breakfast experience you can imagine but get there early otherwise you will have to queue.

This is just a handful of the eating-houses that offer good food and service; as there is an abundance of restaurants and takeaways you will be spoilt for choice.
